The Financial Wellbeing Researchers’ Community of Practice is a national forum facilitated by Te Ara Ahunga Ora Retirement Commission to bring together organisations and individuals involved in financial wellbeing research.
The purpose of the group is to strengthen coordination, quality, and the collective impact of financial wellbeing research across Aotearoa New Zealand, providing insights that support sector-wide understanding.
The forum has been established to support the National Strategy for Financial Capability 2025–2027. Research will be shared on the National Strategy resource hub as a mechanism to improve access to relevant research for National Strategy partners.
The objectives of the Community of Practice are to:
- Connect the research community: Strengthen relationships between researchers and organisations across government, academia, NGOs, and the financial services sector and build a more connected and informed research ecosystem.
- Support high-quality, ethical research: Promote robust research practices that support informed advocacy and transparency.
- Improve coordination and alignment: Share updates on current and planned research, identify gaps in knowledge and practice, and reduce duplication across the sector.
- Provide a platform for collaboration and learning: The Community of Practice meets quarterly (in person and online) to discuss emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities, and to support peer learning and professional development.
